Jeff Kinney, you did it again another laugh out loud tale of a wimpy boy Greg Hefley. Finally we see more of Greg's grandfather, who moves in with them due to a price raise at Leisure Towers, so now Grandpa takes over Greg's room and Greg is forced to bunk with Manny. We also welcome a new member to the family... a pig. Yes, a pig he walks on two hooves and practically  is treated like a human. And finally the moment we've all been waiting for..... Rodrick finally gets a job and wait for it.. wait for it.. KEEPS A JOB. Now in this diary Greg's kicking it back "Old School.''
When Greg's mother petitions to have a day where all electronics aren't used for forty-eight hours he doesn't believe people are actually going to sign it, but she gets it to happen after grandpa has a party and Greg's mom gets the elderly people there to sign it. Greg has an interesting forty-eight hours full of imprisoned juveniles, volunteers, and some really crazy girl scouts. After this dad leaves town and Greg acts stupidly right away.
After messing up a pipe and making a water stain on the kitchen roof grandpa takes Greg to go get paint using dad's car. Long story-short they manage to get it in a ditch, now Greg has no choice, but to go on a school field-trip to "Hardscrabble Farms" for a week. No junk food allowed will Greg survive without the snacks or will the mythical "Silas Scratch" get him? Read the book to find out.
MY THOUGHTS: This book is by far the best Diary of a Wimpy Kid book ever. I honestly read it in a day and  twenty-five minutes. The timing in the story was great and I like how more sarcastic Greg is, it shows the hormones are in full gear. I don't love  the ending it left me with allot of questions about the relationship of Greg and his father. I also want to question how long did Rodrick stay at his job, and the pig what happens to him. I truly hope for book eleven to answer these questions.
Highly Recommend it
