Let's face it today technology has overrun teens and America in general. The one thing that has overrun teens specifically though, is You Tube. This book "Selp Helf" was written by a "youtuber" and her brother based off her perky, fictional persona Miranda Sings. She uploads videos every Tuesday, and Thursday this funny big- lipped character has teens around the world laughing out loud.
In this book you get a true, clear version of Miranda's take on the world, which she believes isn't as perfect as herself. There's alot of how to "attempt" to be as perfect as Miranda tips, but who are we fooling we'll never be as perfect as this "queen". This book also has alot of humor and sarcasm just like her videos, which is great to see she's the same on, and off camera.
There are tons of activities throughout the book, so you won't ever get bored you read for a little, color for a little, quiz for a little, cut out things for a little, and my personal favorite make crafts. This book also contains bar codes for you to scan, and unlock hidden Miranda videos, which are indeed hilarious. If you can't get enough of Miranda Sings, like me this is definitely the book for you.
MY THOUGHTS: as a "Mirfanda" (fan of Miranda Sing) I was already in love with the book before actually reading it. As I did read it though, I was falling even more in love with the character Miranda Sings. She is hysterical and full of life, sometimes when I am down in the dumps, I pull out my copy and open to a random page and begin to read. Boom! I forget instantly why I was mad, and begin to fall over laughing. I've read the book like five times (although there's alot of pictures) and I will continue to re-read it. She has gotten me through some sad times, and made them better.
Highly- highly recommend it
